the Linden Postcard Show 2013

Every year the Linden Gallery in St Kilda Melbourne hosts the Linden Postcard Show. It is great to go and see the works which must be no more then 30cm by 30cm in size for the 2D works. Linden Gallery produce a series of postcards from selected art works. It is great to go and see the exhibition because there are small works which line the walls of all the spaces there and it’s one of those shows where you want to get up close and check out each work. It’s crowded on the Saturday when the prizes are announced so if you don’t like crowds, save it up for another day. The Gallery usually have live music on the Saturday in the afternoon and I love going on that day… it’s a real hoot!

the Christening

the Australian Dream art series

The Australian Dream is an art series which I continue to return to as I love the Australian icons which emerge. Visions of the colours of the outback, cattle dogs, the Hills hoist and the sense of community come to me. Sometimes my paintings have an element of humour contained within which reminds me of the people and scenarios I have encountered in my travels within Australia.

One of my latest paintings in this series is “the Christening” with the family standing around their beloved Holden FX car, another loved icon of Australia.

cattle dog trials at Bangalow Show 2012

I recently went to the Bangalow show, mostly because I wanted to go to the cattle dog trials. I got some photos of the cattle dogs in action as well as relaxing behind the scenes. I love Bangalow and take my art to the Bangalow market once per month. There are a bunch of artists in the A+I Hall… see you there. The Bangalow market is on the fourth Sunday of every month.
